Day Thirty-one – October 9, 2018

A nice day here in Ohio, we hit the road and heads towards Cleveland.  Cleveland is always interesting with the 90 degree turns on the expressway and then seeing Lake Erie.

This seems so anti-climatic and boring.  I almost miss entering into Pennsylvania.  After that I am just not really paying attention so it is good that Dale is driving.

Here we are in New York and the timing is good – no rush hour in Buffalo/Niagara Falls area and we pass through rather easily.

Then back to reality – home.  The lawn looks good (thanks Brandon for mowing while we were away); the mail is stacked up (mostly junk); the car looks like it has been through a war zone of bugs.

I guess that’s what driving through all those states and just 2, 342 miles of Route 66 will do to a car.  All in all, the trip was 7,300 miles of (mostly) amazing country.  We feel so fortunate to have traveled the 66; Dale wants to do it again only in a Corvette next time.  Not!  It would take us an hour just to get up out of the car!

We are compiling a list of the US States we have seen – there are still a few left (Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Minnesota, and Arkansas).  We are already planning our next trip to include some of those states!

Happy Trails!
